Study Abroad
Schorndorf
Spring 2013
The faculty director for the Spring '13 Schorndorf program will be Professor John Bolen.
The
"Simpson Experience Abroad" in Schorndorf, Germany offers students an
intensive living and learning experience in Germany. The program is
located in Schorndorf, a city of 40,000 some 30 minutes from Stuttgart.
Students live with German families and receive daily instruction in
German language, culture, history and literature. Theater, opera,
concerts and museums in Stuttgart provide the advantages of a large
city. On weekends, students travel to cultural and historical sites.
Included are also week-long study tours to Berlin and Munich. Students
depart in early January and return in May.
Spring 2013 Program Director John Bolen will be offering the 4 credit course PHIL 190 “Introduction to German Philosophers” which will fulfill both a CT and a WC requirement in the Engaged Citizenship general education curriculum, and all students will take a two-credit hour study abroad reflection course led by Professor Bolen.
